Rearranged

October 10, 2013 | My Jottings

I’m still working on the fairly long post about my recent trip to Seattle and Bainbridge Island with my friend Denel. There are lots of photos to size and arrange, and I hope to get that up soon.

In the meantime, we rearranged the furniture in our bedroom and I thought I’d share how it looks. We’ve never had the bed under the front windows before, but I’m beginning to like it! You can click to enlarge these if you like.

I’ve always liked how changing the placement of a few things in a room makes it feel new, when nothing in it really is.

And of course there should always be at least one cardinal in every room.

Have a wonderful day!

I think it’s really good to have the light from the window coming in behind you – it means you can read in bed the longest time possible before you have to switch the lights on, and the same in the morning – as soon as the natural light is bright enough you can begin reading/writing again. xxx

You’re absolutely right Ember. Our bed used to be in the darkest part of the room and now we’re enjoying this morning light behind us very much! Have you got to your own writing yet or are you still editing? God bless your weekend!

That is lovely. I don’t read in bed but our bedroom windows go floor to ceiling & overlook the water. We have our bed placed directly opposite so I can watch the colours as the sun comes up & it feels like we are in a nest because the birds are all around. The placement of one’s bed is extremely important. ?

I enjoyed reading about your bedroom windows and the beautiful view they give you, Ganeida. Be there as soon as I can… ????

Editing, editing, editing . . . it’s taken over my life, this mahoosive novel!! But it will be worth it – he has written such a cracker of a book; it is honestly brilliant and I am proud to have been one of its midwives. xx

What a lovely way to view what you’re doing–book midwifery! xo

I like it! It feels like you don’t need a headboard when the windows are behind you!

  8. Just Julie says:

You’re right — I hadn’t even thought of that! xoxo

Wow Ganeida!! Your bedroom is amazing! To have no neighbors, that view, through those windows!! How blessed you are. What a place to rest and pray. Thank you for sharing, my dear friend across the other sea! xo
