Druthers 5
July 2, 2010 | My Jottings
If I had my druthers…..
…I would spend a good many hours reading and studying, praying and writing, pondering and napping in a space like this…
…and the window beside the bed would open out over a view like this…
…and in the late afternoon Michael and I would sit down to this…
…and in the evening we would warm our toes by this…
…and for the first time in decades, when we first peered at the clock in the morning it would say
this…
….but that’s only if I had my druthers….
Well, may it be so.
🙂
Yeah, I get this. All of that I agree with but JUST IMAGINE IF MICHAEL HAD HIS DRUTHERS AT THE SAME TIME! To say the least the china would not have roses on it and it would be laden with various cured meats. But here’s where it gets beautiful: wouldn’t that apple and the hard cheese really be better with a few thick flakes of aromatic smoked salmon and a small fork beside them? I would guess that God intends your druthers and his druthers to harmonize. Except for the china each of these images are harmonies of Michael and you.
Yes, smoked salmon and cured meats and strong coffee for Michael – all would fit in that tea cup picture. And a bigger, rougher clay mug, thrown on a wheel and with a fish or a moose head on it. And a thick plaid comforter, and a pair of Sorel boots in the corner. All fine…..just give me the bed and the fire and the view. 🙂
That sounds like a perfect day!
