A House Blessing
August 31, 2023 | My Jottings
May God give a blessing to this house.
God bless this house from roof to floor,
from wall to wall,
from end to end,
from its foundation and in its covering.
In the strong name of the triune God,
all disturbance cease,
captive spirits freed,
God’s Spirit alone
dwell within these walls.
We call upon the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
to save, shield, and surround
this house, this home,
this day, this night,
and every night.

I read this prayer last night and something inside of me leaped up and shouted “Yes! Yes! For my home, for my family, for my neighbors, for my friends, for this city, for this country, for the world…yes!”
So today I share these simple but powerful words and pray them for my home, for the homes of those I love, for your home and for the homes of your loved ones.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
God bless your home…
Claiming it Julie. Desperately needed this very moment. Thanks for sharing. Love to you!
Jodi… you’re so much on my heart and mind, and in my prayers. I will be in touch soon. Love to you too!
I loved this so much! I always pray for protection and blessing of my home and my children’s homes! Russ and I had our priest bless each room when we moved into our house.
I pray for blessing and protection over in the homes of those I love also, Brenda. I think having your priest come in is a beautiful idea. Thank you so much for stopping in here! God bless you.
Dear Julie, thank you for this prayer of blessing on our homes. I think it’s important to often ask Holy Spirit to “sweep” through our homes. We may have had visitors who brought dark things into our dwellings that were attached to them.
Also, some of the TV programmes we watch might appear innocent, but they hide evil within them.
I don’t focus on, or fear, the enemy’s realm. However,I do know that Yahweh is in control and we can always approach Him and ask Him to bless our homes.
Sending love & hugs

P.S. We now have four grandchildren! Chris, our younger son has got two boys, Finley (almost 14!) and Sam (11).
Louisa & husband Steve have a daughter, Talitha Kay (21 months) and Luke (6 months). Talitha’s name is taken from Mark Chapter 5 Verse 41.
