My middle daughter Carolyn and and her husband Jeremy have four children, and Audrey Elizabeth is their youngest. She is 4 1/2 and I always say she’s a little sparkler, because life and cheer and energy and joy beam out of her almost at all times. She is a force to be reckoned with. She also shows her love very demonstratively with excited squeals, long, strong hugs and huge smiles.
A couple of days ago Carolyn texted me about Audrey, and here’s the conversation:
I hope you’re chuckling, because I certainly was, and am. Audrey is a happy little girl who makes me happy. Just being with her cheers me up.
Now I ask you.
Do your grandchildren like your bottom?
I remember a comment made by my then 3 year old niece as she was cautiously holding herself over the opening of the “big potty”.
“When I’m a grown-up I’ll have a nice big butt like you, and then I won’t ever have to worry about falling in the toilet.”
Sue, I hope you don’t mind me saying that I laughed out loud really heartily on this one. There is no danger of me ever falling into the toilet either. I have heard and love the term “bosom buddies”….do you think there could ever be such a thing as “bottom buddies”? :O xxoo
It is SUCH a comfort to know that all danger of falling down the toilet has been . . . er . . . left behind.
My children say very rude things about my bottom, now you come to mention it 🙁
Helen…I cannot imagine that. Why would they do that to a mom as fit and trim as you? Tell them your friend Julie in Minnesota says to stop it. 😉

She was totally serious about it too. Not silly, not goofy. That’s what she likes, but not all she likes about you.
